Before/After Advice

These are only guidelines. For those of you that want to maximise on the benefits of your treatment...

The day of the Treatment:
            

Do   
  1. Drink lots of water, & or, herbal teas
  2. Eat easily digested foods ie;  Basmati rice, Dahl, Soups, Salads, Fruit
  3. Practise a few basic stretches.
  4. Wear loose fitting clothing & bring extra warmth for afterwards. Deep relaxation causes the body temperature to drop

Arrive 
early 
  1. To fill out consultation form, or update me on any issues.
  2. Use the bathroom.
  3. Rehydrate.
  4. Start to relax.

Tell me 
  1. If you want the music off, or change
  2. Any areas that are too sensitive to touch, or should be avoided.
  3. If you don't want oil in your hair!
  4. Your expectations for the massage
  5. Any questions

Do not 
  1. Drink alcohol
  2. Eat heavy food immediately before.

Avoid
  1. Caffeine
  2. Heavy foods for 24hrs ie: Meat, cheese,deep fried foods, bread.
During the Treatment

Do
  1. Actively engage in relaxing, mentally and physically
  2. Let your thoughts go.
  3. Focus on touch.
  4. Breathe! Watch out for breath holding.

Tell me 
  1. If you become too hot/cold.
  2. If you need the pressure adjusting

     
  • Pinda Sweda
    ~I find the Pinda sweda massages very therapeutic. The treatment is a warm oil treatment using a compress full of healing herbs. I can really feel the depth of the treatment and it really helps to relieve tension in my muscles. It is a wonderfully intense experience and I feel so relaxed by the end of it that it’s difficult to get off the bed.

  • Hopi Ear Candles
     My son has had chronic excessive wax since he was tiny, he used to suffer repeated painful ear infections, as the middle ear's eustachian tube became congested. This resulted in antibiotics, followed by a period of debilitation and reduced immune response, often with further complications of being suseptible to any bug's/virus's circulating at the time.
    For the last 3 years he has had  preventitve treatments of ear candles at key times when I'm sure he's at risk ie; autumn, before all the cold bugs start going around, and if he's a bit run down. He's not had an ear infection since. What a relief all round!
